I am a sophomore moving from the Film Department into Animation. I would like to create a polished site where I can post my films and 2D/digital work for future employers and schools. At the moment, I am not actively looking for employment and still have a ways to go in my education, but for now I can use my portfolio site to show friends and network.
I want my site to be easy to navigate, attractive and show my personality through its design as this could be a person's first impression of me. I want it to be visible that I am organized and knowledgable of current software, design trends, etc. Currently, I am using Vimeo to display my films and Wordpress to document my school work. I plan to have a very simple, clean layout that plainly organizes my work into different categories. I will have different tabs for video/animation, illustration, design, collage and possibly photo. I will also have a place for contact information, a brief bio/artist statement, my resume and links to my Vimeo and Wordpress. I want the images to be the main focus and will be looking into layouts (or creating my own) that provide such. I will need to be able to easily add/remove work without disrupting the layout of my site.
